Introducing Luminescence

There are several methods for rock dating that have their own disadvantages and advantages. These methods include radiocarbon, argon argon, cosmogenic, and luminescence.

Introduction section

This section is designed to find stones age that have vast applications in geosciences, geography, archeology, oceanography and climatology.

2.4  Objectives and capabilities of the sector

The objectives of the section include three parts of research, education and services as follows:

A. The main objectives of research activities

4-2-1  Natural hazards study including earthquake detection, drought, flood and volcano, usually natural events occur periodically. Determining the age of the rotation and the last time of the natural occurrence will help us to estimate the period of occurrence and the probability of occurrence of the next natural hazard. One of the basic methods for estimating the risk of earthquakes in relation to faults is the degree of fault slip during a particular period, which is important with the help of dating techniques.

4.2.2  In archeology, the determination of the absolute age of civilizations and findings is key. This section is hoping to help archaeologists in Iran to carry out research projects by inventing deposits and archaeological findings.

4.2.2.  In Climatology Regarding the recording of past events in the nature of nature, it can be seen from the climate over the past history of the Earth's climate.

4.2.4  to help Snyaby the ancient science of seismology, climatology and archeology old conjoined in different areas of Iran. For example, the long-standing use of long-standing seismology and climatology to examine how civilization, immigration and the disappearance of ...

B. The main objectives of the training activities

4.2.5  Given the urgency of the research fields mentioned in the main objectives of the research activities, it is essential for specialist forces to strengthen their national activities in order to achieve those goals. In this regard, the department hopes to provide the groundwork for the training of the physics, land physics, geophysics, geology, geography, archeology, and other fields through close educational cooperation.

(C) The main objectives of the department's activities in relation to other organizations and centers

4-2-6  Despite the lack of facilities, this section, while in close contact with the University of Oxford's academic laboratories and other universities in the United Kingdom, has provided the necessary ground for furthering its goals, and has benefited from outside facilities to meet internal needs. At present, there is a research relationship with various government agencies including the Geological Survey, the Ministry of Housing, the Heritage and Tourism Organization and others.

4.3 Equipment (laboratory and field)

4-3-1  Despite the fact that much effort has been made to fund the purchase of equipment so far, since the beginning of 2007, with the construction of the dark room, the move towards the establishment of the National Laboratory of Sunnites has begun with the Luminescence method.
