Gravimetry and geodesy division
Introduction:
The gravimetry section was established at the beginning of the work of the Geophysical Institute in the year 1336 SH and gradually expanded. This section has been created to provide a framework for applied research in the form of consulting and cooperative projects with organizations and other centers. In addition, it provides training for graduate students in the fields of prospecting in underground mines and reservoirs and exploring the geological structures of engineering projects site .
research activities:
- Development of first and second-rate national networks
- Determine the base stations all over the country
- Study of regional anomalies (isostatic)
- Examine the delicate movements of the shell and faults
- Determine the Earth's crust (geoid height) of Iran
- Micro-gravity studies and its engineering applications
Training activities:
- theoretical studies and education
- Assistance in field operations related to student researches
- Cooperative activities:Consulting in the design of geometrical studies of geophysical projects of the country's scientific and industrial centers
- Collaborating on the implementation of cost-effective applied research projects (described below)
main empirical studies: :
- The study of expensive anomalies
- Study of underground caverns and location of salt domes
- Participation in the search for underground reservoirs
- Identification of zones, cavities, caves and karstic subsidence
Equipment:
- CG5 Gravity Meter for measuring gravity with a precision of less than 0.005 milligal
- Gauge CG3M for measuring the accuracy of 0.005 milligal
- Gauge CG3 for measuring the accuracy of 0.100 milligal
- Scania Gravity Meter (GS 12) to measure gauge
- Gauge Lacoste Ramberg Model G for measuring the accuracy of 0.01 milligal
- Lacoste Ramberg Model D for measuring accuracy of 0.001 milligal
- Computer facilities and advanced softwares for computing and modeling
Mapping devices:
- GPS dual-frequency Trimble model R7R8
Three, including one R7 as Base and two R8 for the rover to the team Gravimetric isolated with relative accuracy ppm 1 + mm 5 and two keyboards ACU method Static Radio 35 watts with a range of up to harvest by RTK to measure Coordinate points
- The Total Station Trimble Camera, Model 5601 with the following specifications :
- Secure reader with a precision of 1 second (0.3 milliseconds)
- Equipped with two-axis electronic capacitor with a precision of 1.5 seconds
- It has a motorized system
- Carefully measures the distance in less than two seconds ppm 1 + mm 1
- The ability to use ACU keyboards (by switching the keyboard from GPS to Total Station and vice versa can be easily done)
- 1-watt radio for robotic or single ( One Man System )
- With automatic target recognition systems that target search device (charter) has been activated and is then locked to any moving target, Total station will also move .
This camera can be used for surveying topographic data in near zones for any distance-intensive gravimetric station (stacking with static GPS over long distances).
