The late Dr. Hossein Kashi Afshar
Dr. Hossein Kashi Afshar was born in Tehran in 1288(Persian calendar). He received his doctorate in geology from the University of London. Dr. Kashi Afshar High School was built in Karaj by the himself. Happy soul and path to the trenches of high school builders.

The late Dr. Alinoush Toryian
• Former faculty member and retired professor of space physics department.
• Former Head of the Solar Physics, Institute of Geophysics.
personal life:
Alinoush Toryian was born in Tehran on Tuesday, November 9, 1920 , to a well-educated parents. Her father, Arto Toryian,had been graduated from acting and theater in Moscow. He was the founder of the Second Dramatic Arts and Theater Training Center in Iran. Arto Toryian was a knowledgeable man who loved Iran, Which had translated parts of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh into Armenian.
Her mother, Lady Varto, had studied art and literature in Switzerland. She is the first Iranian-Armenian woman to write Persian poetry and to work in the art of drama. Alenush Toryian spent her childhood In a family with such cultural, literary and artistic background.
Alinoush Taryan never married and dedicated his home to the Armenians of New Jolfa in Isfahan and to students who did not have a decent accommodation. He lived in Tohid's elderly sanatorium late in life.
Toryian died in Tehran on March 6, 2011 due to the old age.
Scientific life:
Alinoush completed her undergraduate studies at the Armenian school and high school at Anushirvan Dadgar zartoshtian High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tehran in 1947, where he was hired as a laboratory operations officer at the Faculty of Science. Then applied for a scholarship, but because of her gender, her professor, Dr. Mahmoud Hassabi, refused to accept the scholarship, so she went to the Sorbonne at the expense of his family and received a doctorate in 1956.
Despite a professorship at the Sorbonne, Dr. Toryian returned to Iran to serve her country and was appointed associate professor of thermodynamics at University of Tehran.
He was selected to participate in the Solar Observatory study in the West German State Scholarship in 1956 and returned to Iran after four months of study and in 1966 she played a major role in establishing the first solar physics observatory in Iran.
Dr. Toryian was promoted to professor at the University of Tehran in 1964 and she was the first person to teach the physics course of stars (astrophysics) in Iran.
She was fluent in Farsi, Armenian, French and is fluent in Turkish and English.
Alinoush Toryian retired at his own request after two years of teaching.
Scientific services:
- Establishment of the first solar physics observatory.
-she was the first one who taught solar physics and astrophysics.
- Toryian devoted her home to expanding the knowledge and utilizing students and Armenians.
- Establishment of the first solar telescope.
Positions:
-Toryian received a professorship at the University of Tehran in 1964.
- Head of Solar Physics Research Group.
Dr. Iraj Malekpour
Professor of Astronomy and Space Physics at Tehran University. He had been regulating, exporting, and publishing public calendars in Iran for many years.

- Former Head of the Solar Physics Division of the Institute of Geophysics.
Dr. Bahram Akashe
Born in Masjed Soleiman in 1936, he is the father of Iranian seismology, a prominent specialist in seismology and geology in Iran.

Biography:
DR. Bahram Akasheh started working in the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran in 1969, and became a professor of seismology in 1985.
He was head of the Seismology department at the Institute of Geophysics for many years and retired after 30 years. He also chaired the Department of Geophysics at the Islamic Azad University of North Tehran Branch for five years and is currently the dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences.
Dr. Akash has always warned of the danger of an earthquake in Tehran, and advocates of shifting the capital to minimize potential earthquake casualties.
